Approach to Counseling

I provide counseling to individuals, couples, and families surrounding issues that women are dealing with in their daily life. I offer support to women as they balance their many life roles, which may include, wife, career woman, mother, daughter, sister and friend (to name a few).

I provide counseling to women as they explore ways to feel satisfied with their life and their relationships. I specialize in alleviating many presenting concerns, including relationship problems, post-partum depression, anxiety, sleeplessness, self image/identity issues, and symptoms associated with a history of trauma/abuse. I provide counseling surrounding, fertility issues, preparing for children, parenting, and childcare transition. I believe in the connection of body, mind, spirit and the power of the counseling relationship to support you as you make life changes. Let’s work together to set some realistic, attainable goals towards finding balance and contentment in your life.

Credentials

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University and am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology. I have extensive experience working with women and families. I have developed and facilitated support group programs, with emphasis on women’s issues.

We can work together to identify ways to juggle life’s many obstacles and roles without losing sight of your identity; your goals and dreams. Most the time, we as women may find ways to manage our daily stressors and yet at times we may experience feelings of guilt, sadness, anxiety, and discontent.
