Parenting

There is a wealth of information available about parenting, starting from the time of conception up into the adult years. The following list includes some local/community resources that may be helpful as well as information relating to divorce, single parenting, step parenting and blended families.  Parenting is a significant part of a women’s life and with parenting comes a plethora of questions, such as “am I doing this right?”, “how do I manage my career and my family?”, “should I stay home from work?”, and “how do I find time for myself, my child(ren) and my significant relationships?”  These are just a few of the questions mother’s deal with daily; so it isn’t surprising that more families are looking for parenting support.

A census in 2005 by the Center for Disease Control showed that there were 82.5 million mothers in the United States and that 4.1 million babies were born in the year 2005. Today, the U.S. census shows that a baby is born every 7 seconds…that’s a lot of people using their parenting skills!

Counseling services can be helpful in identifying issues regarding parenting that may be causing increased stress on yourself, your children, and your significant relationships. Every family has different values, beliefs, and goals. Working with someone face to face can be beneficial because you can develop an individualized parenting plan that can address the unique concerns and needs of your family.
